A maritime self-portrait
Bound to go back and forth, from one delusion to another till the time will sink me, this is the way I always imagined myself. A white, elegant ocean liner, with the same daring spirit that characterized the blue ribbon races in the XX century and the awareness that safe waters are not the field where I want to play. A font of inspiration for this work has been the German liner Kaiser Wilhelm II, which motto was "The world is my playground". At the same time though I decided to depict myself when I was still unborn, with the small caption stating my date of birth. Frozen in a moment of maximum fragility, suspended in a blue liquid solution, I quietly float whilst sucking up dreams through an umbilical cord. The pleasure of life before living.
